Enerhodar occupying authorities intensify repressive actions against locals – Ukrainian Intelligence
ALONA MAZURENKO[1] - TUESDAY, 6 SEPTEMBER 2022, 20:29 Ukrainian Intelligence reports that the Russian occupying authorities are intensifying filtration measures and repression against the local population in the temporarily occupied town of Enerhodar. Source: Main Intelligence Directorate[2] of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine
Quote: "The occupying forces have not managed to achieve the minimum required level of compliance; therefore, they are widely resorting to oppression, kidnapping and blackmail.
A special auxiliary unit of the National Guard of the Russian Federation arrived in the city to carry out filtration measures. With the aid of local collaborators, lists of unreliable people are being drawn up, which include former military personnel, veterans of the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine in 2014-2018 - ed.], employees of law enforcement agencies, activists and citizens with pro-Ukrainian position. Detained residents of the city and Ukrainian POWs [prisoners of war] are kept on the premises of the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the city court, which have been converted into torture chambers.
Details: There are reports that constant threats by the Russians are forcing people to leave the city for territory controlled by Ukraine.

However, the Russian occupying authorities have officially forbidden leaving Enerhodar, but this issue can be resolved with bribes paid right at the Russian checkpoints. The Intelligence Directorate noted that the "fee" reaches US£5,000-7,000.
At the same time, most of the roads around the city and the shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir are mined. Wounded Russian soldiers are known to have been placed in a local maternity hospital. In the near future, the Russian occupying authorities plan to disguise the wounded as civilians and involve them in the production of propaganda stories for Russian news outlets, where reporters claim "civilians were injured in shelling by Ukrainian Armed Forces."
Journalists fight on their own frontline.
