As a result of the Russian missile attacks, the electricity supply disappeared in the city of Kharkiv and in a large part of Kharkiv Oblast. Additionally, without electricity, the pumps that supply water to people's houses did not work. Currently, 80% of electricity and water supply has been restored in the Oblast.
The works continue. Earlier, Mykhailo Podolyak stated: "Deliberate direct strikes on critical civilian infrastructure, in particular on the largest Kharkiv TPP-5, are an unconditional manifestation of Russia's terrorism and its desire to massively cut off civilians from electricity and heat. Such a cowardly "response" to the escape of its own army from the battlefield".
Background: Several parts of the city of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast were cut off the grid on the evening of Sunday, 11 September, as a result of Russian strikes on critical infrastructure targets. Power outages were also reported in Poltava and Sumy Oblasts. Within several hours, power supply was completely restored in Sumy, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.
Works are still underway to restore power in Kharkiv Oblast.
