In light of the partial mobilisation announced by the Russian military-political leadership, Russian commanders on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are attempting to limit the rights of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on short-term contracts. For example, commanders of Russian units on the Zaporizhzhia front have declared that the term of the contract is irrelevant and it is instead the responsibility of the commanders to decide the duration of any soldier's deployment in the combat zone.
Delays in wages and approving leave are also being blamed on the recently announced partial mobilisation and the morale among Russian units is deteriorating. Over the course of 24 September, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Soledar, Vyimka, Kurdiumivka, Zaitseve, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske. Ukrainian aircraft carried out 26 airstrikes, striking 20 areas where Russian military personnel and equipment were concentrated, along with six anti-aircraft defence systems.
Ukraine's missile and artillery units struck five Russian command posts; 13 areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated; three anti-aircraft systems; three missile and artillery systems; and two ammunition storage points.
Russia's losses have yet to be confirmed.
