5 settlements liberated near Lyman, Donetsk OblastÂ
IRYNA BALACHUK -- SATURDAY, 1 OCTOBER 2022, 12:31 The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 5 settlements near Lyman in Donetsk Oblast; at the moment, stabilisation measures are taking place there. Source: Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman for the Eastern group of troops, on the national joint 24/7 newscast on 1 October
Quote: "The Russian troops in the area of Lyman are encircled. Yampil, Novoselivka, Shandryholove, Drobysheve, and Stavky settlements are liberated. Stabilisation measures are being conducted there."
Details: According to Cherevatyi, approximately 5,000-5,500 occupiers are kettled in Lyman now.
At the same time, Cherevatyi has pointed out that it is currently difficult to name an exact number of Russian soldiers who are encircled near Lyman. This is due to combat actions constantly taking place there, which reduces the occupiers' manpower. Additionally, some groups of Russians have tried to break through, but the Armed Forces have rendered these attempts "not quite successful".
The spokesman for the Eastern group of troops added that the occupiers are surrendering; many of them have been killed or injured. However, the operation of liberating Lyman is not complete yet. Journalists fight on their own frontline. Support Ukrainska Pravda or become our patron!
