This was announced by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh during a briefing on Friday, Voice of America reports. The means of satellite communication were included in the new £275 million military aid package to Ukraine. The package was provided under the authority of the President of the United States.
This allows the Pentagon to send weapons to Ukraine from its own stockpiles in a short time. Four satellite communication antennas operating outside the Starlink system will be provided to Ukraine by the US Department of Defense for the first time.

"For the first time, we are sending four satellite communications antennas," Singh said. She explained that these antennas can interact with any system, not just Starlink. They will help improve communication capabilities on the battlefield.
The need to provide such means of satellite communication is caused by the need to maintain communication on the battlefield in the conditions of the destruction of energy facilities in Ukraine. "We see Russian attacks on Ukraine's power grids and infrastructure, and these antennas provide additional capabilities on the ground at a critical time when strikes are being carried out on Ukrainian infrastructure. They are not intended to replace services like Starlink, they help improve communications on the battlefield," added Sabrina Singh, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary.

According to him, Ukrainian high-ranking officials are in direct contact with Elon Musk to find a way out of the controversy surrounding payment for Starlink terminals, which provide critical battlefield connectivity for the Ukrainian forces.
Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) SystemIn addition to the satellite communications equipment, the new US aid package includes additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 2,000 Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) Systems that remotely create anti-tank minefields and 500 155 mm artillery rounds, 1,300 anti-tank systems, 125 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), small arms, and bullets to it.
