The Finnish government approved the construction of a fence on the border with the Russian Federation

The construction of the fence will begin on the busiest sections of the southwestern border. Later, it is planned to extend the fence along the northern border stations. The fence will cover 260 km of the 1,300 km of the countries' borders.

It is planned to be installed within the next five years.
