Path to EU and NATO: Ukraine plans to sign declarations of support with more countries in December

After the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Belgium signed a declaration of support for Ukraine's membership in both the EU and NATO on Saturday, 26 November, the Office of the President of Ukraine has announced the signing of similar documents with several more NATO member states by the end of the year. This was reported by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and diplomatic adviser to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as European Pravda informs.  "We plan to sign several more similar declarations with the leaders of NATO states by the end of the year," Zhovkva noted.

Zhovkva has emphasised that Belgium is the second country to sign a Joint Declaration with Ukraine and declared its readiness to provide practical support for Ukraine to achieve progress in the implementation of EU and NATO standards and Ukraine's integration into these international organisations. The Czech Republic was the first country [that signed the Joint Declaration - ed.].

"This is a very important international political signal in the context of achieving Ukraine's progress in European integration, because our country is successfully advancing in the implementation of the seven EU Commission's Recommendations necessary for joining the EU. And we are successfully mastering NATO standards and compatibility in the combat zone.

The voice of Belgium plays one of the leading roles in the European community and we are very grateful to our Belgian partners for this support," Zhovkva noted. By signing the Joint Declaration, Belgium also supported the European Union's further allocation of military assistance to Ukraine and the promotion of long-term programs to support Ukraine in the security sphere.
