The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to repel a possible invasion from Belarus

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are preparing to repel a possible re-invasion from the territory of Russia and the Republic of Belarus. The Commander of the Joint Forces the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General General Serhiy Nayev, has checked the combat readiness and coordination of the actions of the units in the northern direction. Defensive lines are being strengthened on the border with Belarus with a fence being erected in some areas.

"The purpose of our work is to check the organization of combat service and the execution of tasks by the unit, namely, how coordinated the personnel is, whether the commanders know how to properly manage their subordinates and how they will act in case of necessary reinforcement," said Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev. According to the training scenario, the enemy breaks through the border, trying to advance to the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. For their part, our servicemen restrain the invaders, repelling the enemy offensive with the support of artillery.

"The commander of the unit, having correctly assessed the situation, and understood exactly where to concentrate the main efforts, what the goals could be set as a result of preparing for a fire attack, how to strengthen and transfer forces from one flank to another," Serhiy Nayev emphasized.

There was also an inspection of one of the units of the border service, which performs the task of protecting the state border directly on the water area that separates Ukraine and Belarus.

"In order to see the actions of the armed forces and the border service of the Republic of Belarus in real time, permanent patrols are arranged here. Protection of the Ukrainian border is organized by our border guards according to the relevant rules. They patrol the coastal zone three times a day.

In order to cover as much territory as possible, quadcopters are used for monitoring," the commander said.

"A ditch, an embankment, a reinforced concrete fence with barbed wire are the engineering barriers being built in Volyn.

In this way, about three kilometers of the border have already been arranged, and the work is ongoing. This is not all, but we will not reveal the details. Besides, works are being carried out in the Rivne and Zhytomyr regions," he noted.

In turn, Belarus is outraged that Ukraine is strengthening the border. Belarusian border guards claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not only mine the border, but also allegedly "destroy roads" and "infrastructure facilities" near the checkpoints.
