The Parliament of Croatia to consider training the Ukrainian military

A discussion and a decision must take place in the Croatian Parliament. This regards the mission of military assistance to Ukraine - EUMAM Ukraine, which was created by the Decision of the Council of the EU in order to promote strengthening of the military potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The mission will last two years and will be carried out on the territory of the EU member states that will participate in the mission.
EU member states send military personnel of their armed forces to the headquarters of the mission for the training groups.

As Croatian Defense Minister Mario Banozic explains, by participating in this mission Croatia will confirm its commitment to support international security. "Thanks to the experience of the Patriotic War, the Republic of Croatia will make a significant contribution to the training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the participation of the Croatian army will also contribute to the acquisition of practical knowledge through interaction with the armed forces of other countries," the minister said.
He noted that a breakdown of the possibilities of participation in the EUMAM mission was carried out. It is proposed that up to 80 Croatian military personnel participate in the EU mission, which will be carried out on the territory of a member state of the European Union in 2022, 2023 and 2024, with the possibility of further rotation.

The Ministry of Defense in the State Budget of Croatia will fund the implementation of this Resolution.
As previously reported, the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, refused to give his consent to the participation of Croatian troops in the EU training mission for Ukraine.
