According to him, law enforcement officers, while investigating the Russian invasion into the Chernobyl zone in the spring, came to the conclusion that the military and self-defense forces succeeded in analyzing the movement of Russian equipment and other information due to the 'Safe Kyiv Region' system. The operational headquarters decided that this system should be strengthened, the official said. Acoustic sensors will strengthen the defense of critical infrastructure that will transmit information to air defense units.

"As for acoustic sensors... It was decided, if possible, to equip critical infrastructure facilities with appropriate sensors that will be able to collect acoustic information and transmit air defense units for response in a timely manner," added Andrii Nebytov. He noted that such systems are able to protect not only critical infrastructure and not only substations that are constantly shelled by the Russian Federation, but also other facilities that can be targeted by strikes.
"These are sensors for additional information collection that will allow air defense to receive information not only from radars, "102" emergency line, but also, for example, in places where there are no people," the official informed. By design, if the information is transmitted in advance, it will allow the military to shoot down a drone or missile.

According to Nebytov, the equipment with special video cameras and acoustic sensors will be carried out as part of the development of the Safe Kyiv Region program. About 77 million sensors were allocated for this program, including server equipment, and video cameras, and relevant sensors. He also noted that during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 30% of the equipment of the integrated 'Safe Kyiv Region' system was destroyed, in particular video cameras and poles.
