Exchange of prisoners of war. Ukraine returned home 60 defenders
Another 60 Ukrainian soldiers returned home after the exchange of prisoners of war. Among them are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Service. Andriy Yermak, head of the president's office said about this.
"This is the best news on the day of the holiday, because the heroes must be alive. Our Armed Forces are fighting for this, including - the battle for life continues. Their relatives are already waiting at home for heroes, who have been imagining this moment of happiness for so long," Andriy Yermak wrote.
58 men and 2 women were returned back. These are 15 officers and 45 privates and sergeants. Among those released are 34 defenders of Mariupol, in particular, 14 warriors who defended Azovstal.
It is also reported that some of the dismissed soldiers were wounded. Some of them were on the territory of Russia, there are also those who were in Olenivka. As previously reported, as a result of a special operation, the Ukrainian military managed to return two Ukrainian marines from the temporarily occupied territories.
In his address on December 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that more than 1,300 people had been released from captivity since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
