Media Slow To Yet Another Story That Doesn’t Look Good For Their Side

The media delayed its coverage of the "Twitter Files" and the FBI's "hack-and-leak" reports over the weekend that suggest the agency helped censor the story on Hunter Biden's laptop. Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi detailed[1] how the former executives at Twitter intentionally suppressed the New York Post's report on Hunter Biden's laptop. Taibbi reported[2] that former head of legal, policy and trust Viyaja Gadde led the effort to squash the story without the knowledge of former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The liberal and corporate media has been slow to cover the content detailing the lead up to Twitter's days-long censorship of the New York Post for posting the article. On Sunday, The New York Times published[3] "Elon Musk, Matt Taibbi, and a Very Modern Media Maelstrom" that detailed the "Twitter Files" from Friday after receiving backlash for their initial lack of coverage. Musk and radio host Clay Travis called out[4] The Times for not covering the story as of Saturday.

Musk accused the paper of becoming "an unregistered lobbying firm."

The Washington Post published their story Saturday at 6:39 p.m., arguing that there is still no evidence that Twitter "bent to the will" of the Democratic Party. (RELATED: Former FBI Lawyer Who Approved FISA Warrant To Spy On Trump Helped Censor Hunter Biden Laptop Story) [7][6] "But by the time the dust settled Saturday, even some conservatives were grumbling that it was a dud.

Musk's Twitter Files produced no smoking gun showing that the tech giant had bent to the will of Democrats," the piece stated. "A handful of screenshots from 2020, posted over the course of two hours Friday evening in a disjointed, roughly 40-tweet thread, show the San Francisco company debating a decision to restrict sharing of a controversial New York Post story about the son of then Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden." CNN also published[8] an article Sunday detailing emails obtained by Taibbi about the possibility of the government interfering in the censorship of Biden's laptop. Many media outlets have appeared silent thus far on the New York Post's[9] report[10] Sunday that the FBI warned Twitter of "hack-and-leak operations" by "state actors" in regards to Hunter Biden's laptop.

These warnings reportedly arose during weekly meetings prior to the 2020 presidential election. A signed declaration[11] by Twitter's former head of Site Integrity Yoel Roth found that the FBI warned him of "state actors" attempts to influence the 2020 election. On Oct.

14, 2020, Twitter prohibited sharing the story about Biden's laptop on the platform, leading the platform to lock the New York Post's Twitter account and the personal account of then-White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. Along with the New York Post, National Review, the Daily Caller and Fox News have published the "hack-and-leak" story, while liberal and corporate media outlets have appeared to give no coverage of the story. On "Fox & Friends" Monday, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy covered the latest report.

WATCH: CNN and MSNBC's morning programs spent very minimal time covering the news. Instead, the outlets dedicated time to discussing former President Donald Trump's call to suspend parts of the Constitution, and the runoff race between Democratic Georgia Sen.

Raphael Warnock and his Republican challenger Herschel Walker.

CNN host Jim Scuitto discussed[12] it briefly on the program, "CNN Newsroom with Poppy Harlow and Jim Scuitto," in which they pointed to Musk having more undisclosed information to share in the near future.
