Russia is forced to replenish Kremlin’s elite unit with conscripts
The Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom believes that Russia has been forced to replenish its elite tank unit, formed to defend Moscow, with mobilised servicemen after suffering heavy losses in Ukraine. Moscow's 1st Guards Tank Army, which is believed to consist of at least 500 tanks and other combat vehicles, has suffered heavy losses in the fighting near Kharkiv.
The Ministry of Defence of the UK added that Russia now has an "almost continuous system of trenches" stretching 60 km between the Russian border and occupied Svatove (Luhansk Oblast).
