A Russian soldier, who confessed to the murder of a Ukrainian and looting during the occupation of part of the Kyiv region, faces court in the Russian Federation for spreading "fakes." This was reported by the Russian media. The case of Daniil Frolkin has been sent to the Military Court of the Khabarovsk Garrison.
He is accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army "for selfish reasons."

Frolkin and other invaders were identified by the journalists of the Russian media "Important Stories" in August 2022. The media succeeded in identifying them due to the photos taken by the Russian military on a phone stolen from a resident of the village of Andriivka, Kyiv region.
During the escape from the Kyiv region, the invaders left the gadget. Journalists determined who exactly was in the photo and contacted the military. These are servicemen of the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade (military unit #51460) Daniil Frolkin, Dmitry Danilov, Ruslan Glotov, and Ivan Shepelenko.

Frolkin first told reporters that during the occupation of the village, he and his comrades did not rob people, but took only "something insignificant" -- a bottle of wine or beer, a barbecue, and food.
At the same time, he did not deny that the Russian military robbed civilians in Andriivka. Frolkin also denied involvement in the murders of the local population. A few hours after the conversation, he called the journalists back and confessed to murder and robberies.
"I, a soldier of military unit #51460, Guards Corporal, Daniil Andreevich Frolkin, confess to all the crimes I committed in Andriivka: the shooting of the civilian population, robbing the civilian population, confiscating their phones, and the fact that our command does not give a damn about our fighters, all the infantry fighting on the front line, on the front line," he said. Frolkin also asked to punish the commanders and said that the deputy commander of the brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Soil, ordered the shooting of people.
He admitted to the murder of Ruslan Yaremchuk, Ukrainian who allegedly transmitted the coordinates of the Russian military to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the summer of 2022, Daniil Frolkin was identified by Ukrainian law enforcement officers. On June 11, Irina Venediktova, the then-Prosecutor General of Ukraine, reported the crime committed by the Russian military.
"This is Daniil Frolkin - a 21-year-old soldier from the already world-known 64th Separate (after atrocities in Bucha) Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces in the 35th Combined Arms Army. In March, during the occupation of the village of Andriivka, Bucha district, he illegally detained an unarmed civilian man. Along with another co-worker, they forcefully placed him in an electrical substation.

The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office in absentia informed him of the suspicion under part 1 and part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Violation of the laws and customs of war." The most severe sanction in the article is life imprisonment.
