Ukraine’s Foreign Minister convinced that it’s only matter of time till Ukraine receives all necessary weapons
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is convinced that Ukraine will eventually receive all the weapons it needs from its partners. Source: Kuleba on air during the national joint 24/7 newscast Quote: "This is my impression.
If we sum up all the behind-the-scenes conversations, not just in Washington, D.C., but also in other countries, the conclusion is this: all the necessary weapons will be made available, it's only a matter of time. Why cannot the weapons be provided immediately? There are psychological, logistics and political reasons.
But we have to work with all these barriers, and we will. It is not just a matter of reluctance.
The supply of any weapon is a very complex technical and logistics operation, we are dealing with all of these details jointly with colleagues from other government agencies... I have a definite feeling, a finger-tips feeling so to say, that the matter of weapons supply has no taboos.
And the best testament to that are the Patriots [air-defence systems], the decisions on which Volodymyr Zelenskyy brought back from Washington, D.C." Details: Kuleba also noted that Ukraine insists on receiving weapons from partners in accordance with their obligations under the Budapest Memorandum. "We are saying a very simple thing to our partners: if you, frankly speaking, colluded with the Russians in taking away our[Ukraine's] nuclear weapons as a deterrent to Russia, and Russia has attacked us, then please provide us with all the non-nuclear weapons we need so that we can defend ourselves from Russia.
This is how we are asking the question," he said.

Background:
- On 21 December, Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State, officially announced a new US£1.85 billion military aid package for Ukraine, which includes a supply of Patriot air defence systems for the first time.
- Kuleba believes that the decision of US President Joe Biden to supply these Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine is a precedent and it opens the door for similar steps by allies.
