Ukrainian Foreign Ministry launches information campaign for world about Ukrainians in Russian captivity

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has announced the "Captured" information campaign to draw the world's attention to the fate of military and civilian Ukrainians in Russian captivity. Source: the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Human Rights Day, as reported by European Pravda  Details: The campaign will focus on an international audience, i.e., active civil society and governments, and involves the creation of an online platform with stories of prisoners of war and information about Russia's violations of fundamental norms and principles of international humanitarian law and the rules of warfare.

Human rights activists, including the Center for Civil Liberties,  this year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the families of people who have been held captive, are working together on the project. Background: On 1 December, it was reported that 50 Ukrainians, including Mariupol defenders, had been brought back home. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine has managed to bring back a total of 1319 people from Russian captivity since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
