France to give 12 Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine
France will give 12 more Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine and help to train Ukrainian soldiers. Source: According to BFMTV, this was announced by Sebastien Lecornu, French Minister of Defence, during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart in Paris, reports European Pravda. Details: Lecornu reported that 12 more Caesar self-propelled howitzers will be sent to Ukraine.
In addition, 150 French instructors will be sent to Poland to train Ukrainian soldiers - around 600 soldiers per month, while around 2,000 servicemen will be able to go through training till the end of the summer. To the additional questions of the journalists, Lecornu responded that since the full-scale invasion France has given Ukraine 18 such howitzers: one of them is not functional for the time being, while the rest require scheduled maintenance.
As to the training of Ukrainian servicemen by French instructors in Poland, it concerns preparation of specialists for various systems, including the Crotale air defence system. Earlier, Denmark announced that they will send all 19 Caesar howitzers that were made for them in France to Ukraine.
