Source: Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, during her visit to Odesa on Thursday, 26 January, reports European Pravda "We are extremely concerned with the issue of nuclear safety and the safety of nuclear facilities.

The IAEA recently visited Ukraine to facilitate the presence of its experts at Ukrainian NPPs," the minister stated. She added that this is a very important step for the facilitation of nuclear safety.

"In this context, I am announcing that France is making a special contribution of 3 million euros to finance this mission of experts and facilitate nuclear safety at Ukrainian nuclear power plants," Colonna stated. In the middle of January, the IAEA stated that it would extend its presence in Ukraine in order to prevent a nuclear disaster during the ongoing war.

In total, the number of the agency's experts in Ukraine will rise to 11-12.

Colonna also reported that in April, France will supply Ukraine with the second DNA laboratory needed for the collection of evidence of Russian crimes in Ukraine.
