• On the morning of 18 January a helicopter crashed and a fire broke out near a kindergarten in the city of Brovary, Kyiv Oblast.
• As a result of the disaster, the top leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been killed: the Internal Affairs Minister, Denys Monastyrskyi, his first deputy, Yevhen Yenin and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yurii Lubkovych, and three of the Interior Minister's aides and security guards.
