Source: the letter of the Minister of Defense to the Parliament, reports European Pravda Quote: "The Netherlands is participating in a cooperation project with the USA and Germany to supply Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, including ammunition, training and spare parts for their maintenance.

The delivery of this weapon system is a unique and complex operation. The cooperation involves the supply by the Netherlands of two launchers and a number of missiles," the letter states. The Netherlands will also help train Ukrainians to work with the Patriot systems.

"Thus, the Netherlands, together with its allies, is responding to President Zelenskyy's urgent call to provide air defence against ongoing missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities," the letter says.

In addition, 65 marines will train a total of 400 Ukrainian soldiers until April. This is happening in Great Britain. The Netherlands has a total of three Patriot anti-aircraft systems, the fourth is in reserve.

The system can shoot down helicopters, manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles from a height of up to 20 kilometres and at a distance of up to 60 kilometres.

The Patriot system consists of a radar, a fire control centre and several launchers.  Earlier, the Dutch government stated that they are potentially ready to discuss the provision of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, if Kyiv expresses such a request.

Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren also stated that the Netherlands is ready to finance the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, which will be handed over by other allies - just as they have already helped with the delivery of Soviet T-72s from the Czech Republic.
