Tragedy in Brovary: 16 people still in hospitals, their condition stable

As of the morning of 19 January, there are 10 adults and 6 children still in the hospital after sustaining injuries from the helicopter crash with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on board on the morning of 18 January; the condition of those hospitalised is stable, there is no one in serious condition. We now have 16 people in hospitals, 6 of them are children. Fortunately, there are no serious injuries. Their physical state has stabilised.

Kuleba also noted that financial assistance will be provided to the families of the victims. At the moment, utility workers, with the permission of the investigators, are clearing the debris from the place where the helicopter fell.

The head of Oblast Military Administration added that windows and doors will be repaired in the damaged building in the near future.

Children from the damaged kindergarten are being transferred to nearby preschools to study, since the damaged kindergarten will not work this year. Background: 

• On the morning of 18 January, a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary in Kyiv Oblast, causing a fire to break out. 
• The helicopter crash killed the top leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs: Denys Monastyrskyi, Minister of Internal Affairs, Yevhen Yenin, First Deputy Interior Minister, and Yurii Lubkovych, three of the Interior Minister's aides and security guards.

  According to information confirmed as of 15:00, 14 dead had been found at the site of the helicopter crash, including a child.

• Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the President's Office, said that the helicopter crash in Brovary occurred during a flight by Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi to one of Ukraine's hotspots where fighting is ongoing.
• The Security Service has launched an investigation into the causes of the helicopter crash in Brovary; the main avenues of investigation are violation of flight safety rules, technical malfunction and intentional actions.
