Ukraine wants to get 11 additional Zuzana 2 howitzers from Slovakia

Ukraine wants to receive 11 additional Zuzana 2 howitzers from Slovakia, and a corresponding agreement is expected to be signed. Source: Slovakian Defence Minister Yaroslav Nad', reports European Pravda, referring to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency  "I can say that an agreement was signed for eight self-propelled gun systems, and they are already in Ukraine. There is also an agreement between Slovakia, Germany, Denmark and Norway for the supply of 16 more Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery systems during the year, which will be paid for by these countries," he said at an online briefing at the Ukraine Media Center Odesa on Wednesday.

The minister stressed that Slovakia is working on this and will continue to supply howitzers this year.

"I have recently received information that there is a request from the Ukrainian side for 11 more of these howitzers, and we are expecting the signing of the agreement. We are working closely with representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine; they visited us last week. I hope that we can agree," Nad' said.

He also said that Slovakia is not considering supplying Ukraine with the Leopard 2 tanks at the moment but can provide the Soviet T-72s if allies propose their replacement.

Nad' also confirmed that Slovakia is ready to discuss the transfer of its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
