Two militants of “Luhansk People’s Republic” sentenced to 9 and 10 years in prison
Two militants of "Luhansk People's Republic" terrorist organisation, who were fighting against Ukraine and were captured, have been sentenced to 9 and 10 years of imprisonment. He was a rifleman and travelled to combat positions along the contact line, fired at Ukrainian troops and equipped Russian fortifications. The militant served in the towns of Frunze and Donetskyi, as well as at the unit's location in Alchevsk. In October 2022, the Ukrainian army captured him near Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast.
Another convict is a resident of Lutuhyne district who joined the Zoria battalion in 2014 as a "senior assistant to a mortar crew".
Later, for a year, he fought as a "machine gunner" in the "1st Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps of the LPR people's militia" with a place of deployment in the village of Myrne. In April 2022, he became a volunteer of the occupying forces of the aggressor state. He took part in the offensive on Novotoshkivka and Lysychansk, where he was wounded twice.
After treatment, he continued to serve at combat positions on the Bakhmut front, where he was captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in September 2022.
The court found these citizens of Ukraine guilty of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, as well as participation in the activities of armed groups not provided for by the law (Article 110.2 and Article 260.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
