UN Security Council to discuss war in Ukraine on anniversary of full-scale invasion

Vanessa Frazier, UN Security Council President and UN ambassador of Malta, announced at the briefing on Wednesday, 1 February that a high-level meeting with Foreign Affairs Ministers will be held.

She did not disclose the details concerning the Ukrainian representatives, stating the name would be announced later "for security reasons". Background: Ukraine is planning to initiate two resolutions in the UN General Assembly concerning the peace formula's implementation and prosecuting Russia for waging war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian government aims to hold the summit dedicated to the peace formula, suggested by Kyiv, by the end of February 2023, with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres being considered as the mediator.
