Hanna Zamazieieva, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Council, and Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, Denmark's Ambassador to Ukraine, have signed a memorandum on the reconstruction of Mykolaiv Oblast. Source: Zamazieieva on Facebook Details: Zamazieieva said that the memorandum concerns the rebuilding of housing and the creation of new employment opportunities in Mykolaiv Oblast, so as to encourage those of its residents who had fled earlier to return.

"I told our visitors a lot about the capabilities of local businesses, about our industry, which might be of interest to Danish businesses and entrepreneurs. We have already established a shared interest in ship-building: Mykolaiv has powerful plants, while Denmark boasts state-of-the-art equipment and processes," she noted.

The head of Mykolaiv Oblast Council and the Danish ambassador discussed the possibility of establishing a Danish quarter or park in the city of Mykolaiv. Denmark has taken on responsibility for rebuilding Mykolaiv as part of Ukraine's postwar reconstruction efforts.

Denmark's Foreign Ministry has earlier allocated EUR16 million to help Mykolaiv and Kremenchuk prepare for winter, focusing on repairing buildings, water supply systems and centralised heat supply systems.
