The publication European Pravda reported about this with reference to the Financial Times. According to one of the sources of the publication, who is familiar with the situation, all the countries of the European Union, except for Denmark and Norway, have joined the initiative. It entails joint procurement of ammunition as well as its quick delivery to Ukraine.
"I think it will happen quickly, very quickly. I think it's a matter of days, weeks, not months," the FT source added. Previously, the media reported that the EU had a plan that would not only ensure the supply of ammunition to Ukraine, but also replenish its own stocks of European countries.

According to the German publication Der Spiegel, this plan comprises three stages. The first step provides for the immediate increase in the delivery of ammunition to Ukraine, in particular the 155 mm artillery shells. The second step covers a joint purchase of 155 mm ammunition by the European Defense Agency (EDA) to fill the gaps in the stocks of EU countries and ensure the long-term supply for Ukraine.
The third step is intended to secure the long-term increase in European ammunition production capacities to consider the changed security situation.

The European Union will also help arms manufacturers to increase production capacity, in particular, at the expense of investments in new plants.
EU defense ministers are expected to discuss the proposals at the informal meeting next week.
The decisions can be made already at the next Heads of State and Government summit on March 23-24.
