Explosions rock airfield in Russian-occupied Melitopol and city of Polohy

Black smoke was seen rising over an airfield in the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol. Explosions were also reported in the city of Polohy, to the northwest of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Source: Ivan Fedorov, Melitopol Mayor, on Telegram

Quote from Fedorov: "Around 13:00 the orcs [i.e., Russian forces - ed.] have had an unsuccessful 'smoke break' at the airfield. [A mocking reference to the time when the Russians blamed explosions at an airfield in Crimea on the violation of fire safety rules - ed.] Half an hour later, black smoke rose over the 'smoking area'."

Details: Fedorov also reported explosions in the temporarily occupied city of Polohy in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
