One of Ilovaisk tragedy organisers, Russian commander Lisitsky dies
Dmitry Lisitsky, one of the organisers of the Ilovaisk tragedy in 2014 and the commander of the Russian paratroopers, has died. One version claims he killed himself, while the other reports he was killed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Source: The Insider; Baza, a Russian Telegram channel
Details: The day before, blogger Yegor Guzenko, who served under Lisitsky's command, reported about the death of Lisitsky, the Commander of the 1st Airborne Assault Battalion of the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment of the Russian Army and Hero of Russia. Later, Ukrainian media reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed Lisitsky.
Instead, Russian media claim that Lisitsky took his own life. His body was reportedly found with a gunshot wound at approximately 10:00 on 26 March in his apartment in Stavropol on Serova Street.
His colleagues claim that Lisitsky had been depressed recently and had been talking about taking his own life, allegedly "because of complaints about his unlawful actions against his personnel". The death of the lieutenant colonel was confirmed to Baza by Aleksandr Tenkov, the Head of the Blagodarnensky District of Stavropol Krai, without specifying the cause.
