Prince Harry ‘braced for upset’ as The Crown slammed for ‘sickening’ Diana scene

Prince Harry and the Royal family are "braced for upset" after The Crown shared pictures of the recreation of Princess Diana's car crash, it has been reported. Upcoming episodes of the controversial Netflix series will chart the infamous breakdown of the marriage between King Charles and Diana - including the Princess of Wales' romance with Dodi Fayed. The couple tragically died in August 1997 following a fatal crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris.

And now, Netflix will be showing the harrowing moments leading up to the devastating moment as well as the traumatic events that unfolded in the weeks after. While the streaming platform has said they won't show the "exact moment of the crash", a source has claimed that the Royal Family will still be concerned for very uncomfortable scenes of the aftermath.

Prince Harry has previously spoken in defence of the Netflix show, but it's now feared the new episodes will cross a line.
"It's going to cause a lot of upset with the Royal Family," the source told the Mail Online. "If it was any other family I'm not sure they'd do it."

"I think a lot of people will find it quite sick that they went into such detail to recreate how the car was smashed up." Mirror have contacted Prince Harry's reps for comment. When asked to give his feelings on The Crown previously, Prince Harry said: "It's fictional.

But it's loosely based on the truth. Of course it's not strictly accurate." He said the show gave viewers a 'rough idea' of the stresses of "putting duty and service above family and everything else.

"I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing stories written about my family or my wife," he added.

Upcoming pictures of The Crown's latest series show pictures show a replica of Princess Diana's car completely destroyed with the bonnet left crushed and the dashboard thrown out of the windscreen. It's believed that the mangled car was transported over to Paris under a tarpaulin in order to film the tragic scenes documenting the final moments of Diana's tragic life. The show's focus on Princess Diana and her death caused a negative reaction from fans and Diana's former friends.

A pal previously insisted that the series will risk forcing Princes William and Harry to relive "the most painful time of their lives".

Simone Simmons told The Sun : "I think it's disgusting and sick, why are they setting out to upset William and Harry? "The makers of this programme do not care about the heir to the throne and everything he has been through." Actor Elizabeth Debicki plays Princess Diana while Rufus Kampa takes on the role of her son Prince William.

The last series of The Crown, based on real-life events connected to the British Royal Family, will see the aftermath of Princess Diana's death and Prince William's student years at St Andrew's University.
