Russian spies surveilling Ukrainian military equipment detained in Poland
The Polish Internal Security Agency detained six people suspected of spying for Russia. They could spy on the channels for the supply of military equipment to Ukraine. The Polish publication RMF FM reported about this.
The Agency's employees detained the suspects in connection with the discovery of hidden cameras on important routes and railway junctions, which recorded traffic on the tracks and transmitted the images to the network. Dozens of such devices were found. The detained persons were supposed to install cameras along the tracks of the Polish railway.
Some of them are installed near the airport in Jasionka in Subcarpathia.

"The primary task of the detainees was to gather information, but it is also possible to prepare for sabotage," Maciej Matysiak, the former deputy head of the Polish Military Counterintelligence Service, commented on the information. As Matysiak notes, the agency network could collect data on the number of vehicles, their security and the type of equipment entering Ukraine from the west.
According to the publication, the spies were detained near the eastern borders of Poland. They had to install hidden cameras on important highways and railway junctions. They determined which trains traveled on these routes and when they did so, and then transmitted the videos and photos they received via the Internet.
Among the sections of railway tracks "controlled" in this way were those located in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, which borders Ukraine. Cameras were installed near the airport in Jasionka, near Rzeszow, which plays an important role in the transfer of weapons from the West to the country attacked by Russia. Registrars were also installed in other regions of Poland.
In connection with the situation, the police and other representatives of the services have been put on high alert, and the protection of key critical infrastructure facilities has also been strengthened, RMF FM reports. The Polish publication Polsat News has contacted the Prime Minister's Office for comment. "We do not comment on this case," the Department of National Security of the Prime Minister's Office said.
However, a spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Mariusz Kaminski, said that Kaminski would make a statement to the media on Thursday regarding the RMF FM reports.
