Slovakia transfers 13 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine
On March 17, the Government of Slovakia approved the transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of the country made a corresponding statement. The fighter jets will be transferred under the defense assistance provided by Slovakia to Ukraine.
The additional aircraft, which Ukraine has requested since the beginning of the war, should help the Air Force of Ukraine establish control over airspace and intercept enemy targets. "The Government of Slovakia has just approved the shipment of 13 MiG-29s to Ukraine! Promises must be kept, and when President Volodymyr Zelensky asked for more weapons, including fighter jets, I said we would do our best. Glad others are doing the same.
Military aid is the key to Ukraine being able to protect itself and all of Europe from Russia," he wrote on Twitter.
