The intelligent agents freed and returned back home two Ukrainian women and six children. On the night of March 17, they crossed the state border and arrived in one of the cities of Ukraine. Defense Intelligence officers noted that citizens of Ukraine had been kept in terrible conditions on the territory of Syria.

"Even in the conditions of Russia's aggressive war, Ukraine does not forget about its citizens in trouble and will come to help in any part of the globe. We continue to fight for every prisoner," the Ukraine's Intelligence said.

As previously reported, in 2021, 41 citizens of Ukraine were in camps in the north of Syria. The evacuation of Ukrainians from Syria is a very complex operation involving many countries and many borders, some of which are not recognized by the world and are not regulated by laws. "They cannot turn to official bodies, conduct negotiations in correspondence, these are only personal contacts.

This is also related to their other local bodies, these and court processes, while they were checking whether they have committed crimes there, and they do not have committed crimes there (on the territory of Syria - ed.). Whether these children belong to this woman," Farhad Ali Shakir, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Erbil, said in 2021.
