They're not the kind of couple who indulge in Public Displays of Affection (or PDAs) during their royal duties, but the Prince and Princess of Wales have their own subtle ways of showing their unity - particularly with their fashion choices. 

Whether it's deliberate or the synchronicity that comes from being part of a long-term couple who also work together, Kate Middleton and her husband have matched their outfits on numerous occasions.

Their twinning moments range from stepping out in the same colours to more understated touches, such as Prince William matching his tie to his wife's ensemble. 

Some of their most notable matches have occurred during important milestones, includng the birth of their first child, Prince George, in 2013.

As the pair introduced the little royal to the world for the first time on the steps of the Lindo Wing, William matched his wife's polka dot Jenny Packham dress in a blue shirt of a similar shade. 

Another significant occasion, was the day when the second part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix series came out in December 2022 on the day of Kate's carol concert at Westminster Abbey. 

The Prince and Princess of Wales put on a united front by co-ordinating with their children.

Charlotte twinned with her mother, as they both donned plum coloured longline coats, and George followed in the footsteps of his father wearing a smart, navy coloured suit. 

William also matched his tie to Kate and Charlotte's outfits, highlighting their united family unit. 

Two days after the release of Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare, William and Kate ignored the drama over the book and matched again when they visited Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

William sported a forest green jumper under a navy blue blazer and trousers, which paired perfectly with Kate's Holland Cooper tartan longline coat, again showing their unity as a couple.

The couple opted for matching shades of green for a reception at the Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad during their royal tour in 2019. Kate wore a glittery emerald dress by Jenny Packham
