Bombshell claim leaves hopes Harry and William will bury hatchet …

Hopes of a reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry at their father's coronation may be in tatters due to claims of a secret GBP1 million payment, reports suggest. The High Court yesterday heard allegations the Prince of Wales had received a secret payment from Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers company regarding phone-hacking allegations. The Duke of Sussex is currently suing News Group Newspapers over alleged unlawful information gathering.

The alleged payment has been cited as potential evidence of a "secret agreement" between the royal household and the newspaper group. The Telegraph has now suggested the claim has left hopes for "coronation peace" between the brothers in tatters just ten days before the event. Prince William is reported to have been "completely unaware" of the contents of his brother's witness statement. READ MORE:Tory councillor suspended over rape joke messages sent from his phone

It comes after the BBC reported "any suggestion of a cosy deal between Prince William and newspapers over hacking would be wide of the mark and that he had been vigilant about wanting to tackle it". Sources told the BBC it was WIlliam who first highlighted the issue of alleged voicemail hacking back in 2005 after having his own battles with the press. They said settlements can often be something pushed by the courts - rather than something pursued by a claimant.

Yesterday, Paul Burrell said Harry would likely be sitting "10 rows back from the rest of the royals" at the historic ceremony on May 6. The former royal butler added this might be favourable to the prince as he's not expected to hang around, Speaking on GB News, Burrell said: "He is coming to show face.

He is coming to put his foot in the door and he is coming because his father wants him to be there. His father will be delighted that both his sons will be there to witness this incredible day in his life. But Harry is not going to hang around."
