The Sudan, officially the Republic of the Sudan, is a country in Northeast Africa. It is bordered by Egypt[2] to the north, Libya[3] to the northwest, Chad[4] to the west, the Central African Republic[5] to the southwest, South Sudan[6] to the south, Ethiopia[7] to the southeast, Eritrea[8] to the east, and the Red Sea to the northeast. Sudan is a member of the United Nations, the Arab League, African Union, COMESA, Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation.
