Jodhpur: No Abetment In Suicide Of 11 Of Pak Migrant Family …

Jodhpur: No one was responsible for the mass suicide of 11 people of a family of Pakistani migrants at Lodta village under Dechu tehsil of Jodhpur on August 9, 2020, investigations by police have concluded. The final report police submitted in court last week says that it was a family dispute that had caused the sensational mass suicide and that there was no abetment for the suicides. A written note found by police had one of the 11 family members narrate the ordeal the family had been through since their arrival from Pakistan's Sindh province in 2015, including a racket involving their own community members and agents with the support of police. The conclusion drawn by police has been criticised by Seemant Lok Sangthan (SLS), a voluntary organisation working for the welfare of the migrants.

The bodies of 11 members of the family - Budharam Bheel, 75, his wife Antara Devi, 70, their son Ravi, 31; daughters Suman, 22, Priya, 25, and Laxmi, 40; four grandsons Dayal, 11, Danish, 10, and Nain, 12; and two granddaughters Diya, 5, and Mukdash, 17 - were found in an agriculture farm where the family lived and worked.
