Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and have suffered a fresh blow after a new poll suggested they were far less popular with the public than other royals. It comes after the Sussex couple revealed that only Harry would fly back to the UK for King Charles's Coronation in two weeks' time, while the Duchess of Sussex would remain at home in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Harry will attend the service at Westminster Abbey on May 6, where his father will officially be crowned monarch, but is expected to snub the Coronation concert at Windsor Castle and post-Coronation events.

The figure is dwarfed by the 71% who said Prince William are Kate Middleton can be regarded as one, a figure which has improved by 7% since the question was last asked in 2020. Perhaps even more painfully for Harry, a whopping 64% of respondents said they would remove him from the line of succession if asked - trailing the disgraced Prince Andrew by only 15%. When asked who had done more damage to the Royal Family, 46% said Prince Andrew and 43% said Prince Harry, according to the poll by MailOnline.

Some support came for Harry and Meghan's children, as a majority said it was right that Archie and Lilibet had now been given royal titles. Large increases in support were for King Charles since he ascended the throne, as 64% now believe he will be a good King.

The British public's damning verdict on Harry and Meghan comes in contrast to a new poll in the US, which suggested the couple's popularity in the country had noticeably improved since their Coronation decision.
A survey asked 1,500 registered voters in America if they viewed various members of the British Royal Family favourably or unfavourably.
The research, which was conducted for Newsweek, shows of those surveyed, 39% viewed Harry favourably compared to 32% in February.
Meghan's popularity has also increased to 33% in April from 27% two months ago.
