Meghan Markle’s rude response to the Queen: ‘I’ve got Harry’

Meghan Markle has given a snappy response to the Queen after being offered helpful advice from the Monarch, according to a royal author.

After Markle left Hollywood behind to marry Prince Harry and become the Duchess of Sussex, she was pushed into the spotlight of the royal family.

In an excerpt from new book Our King, royal correspondent Robert Jobson writes about the Queen believing Markle could do with someone to lean on for support within the family.

In a private conversation, the Queen urged Markle to turn to Sophie, the Countess of Wessex at the time, with Meghan curtly responding: "I've got Harry," according to Johnson.

The Queen was reportedly left stunned after Meghan's short response.

Much like Markle, Sophie was also independent before her marriage to Price Edward in 1999, having a successful career in public relations.

The Queen "warmly welcomed" Markle into the royal family, telling the actress she was "so pleased Harry had at last found love".

In the same book, Jobson reveals detail of Kate Middleton's uncomfortable feelings during her public walkabout around Windsor Castle with William, Harry and Meghan, following the death of the Queen two days prior.

Whilst onlookers viewed the couples' walk as a symbol of unity, Jobson claimed sources had told him that wasn't the case.

Kate Middleton found the walk "one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do".

Jobson claims the seeming togetherness of the couples was an "illusion", and that other members of the royal family struggled to be alone with the Sussexes', following their astounding interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The bombshell book is set to be released on April 13 this year.
