Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slammed as ‘childish, self-centred …

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been labelled "narcissistic" and "self-obsessed" for failing to confirm whether they will attend King Charles' historic May 6 coronation. Royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for turning the "hugely important ceremonial event" into "a soap opera". "It's absolutely rude.

This is really quite narcissistic because at the end of the day, this is about celebrating the king," Mr Heydel-Mankoo told the British News Channel. "I think that Harry and Meghan seem to be confusing the coronation with coronation street - but this isn't a soap opera - it's a hugely important ceremonial event. "Harry and Meghan are just showing the world how childish, self-centered and self-obsessed they are."

The British broadcaster blasted the California-based royals who've become "increasingly irrelevant" for their "shameful publicity ploy". "It's actually a shameful publicity ploy by the Sussexes and they're milking this for all that it's worth," he said. "They know that essentially with their distance from the royal family, they're becoming increasingly uninteresting to the public at large and increasingly irrelevant.

"This is a way to keep them onto the headlines, onto the front pages and actually makes them seem to be powerful with the royal family seemingly trying to entice them over the pond." Mr Heydel-Mankoo said despite how much drama the Sussexes were creating, it would be worse for King Charles if pair don't attend.  "I think the King wants to basically be seen to be always open, you know, wishing for his prodigal son to return," he said.

"You know, he is the head of the head of the Church of England and nothing could be more Christian than to always have a door open.

"But this really does just deflect so much from what should be an occasion for building national unity."
