Veteran royal writer, Robert Jobson, is set to publish his new book in the coming days and he reveals the discussions held amongst senior officials regarding Prince Harry's royal status. The writer has alleged that palace insiders discussed the potential removal of Prince Harry's Duke of Sussex title.

Jobson also claims that officials joked that Prince Harry was "Meghan's hostage", with royal aides believed to have blamed Meghan for the couple's disassociation with the Royal Family and their subsequent fallout. Some senior officials were pushing for the Duke of Sussex to be demoted to Mr Mountbatten-Windsor of Montecito as they feel he has "turned his back on everything he has known".

King Charles laments the saga involving Prince Harry

It is understood that King Charles III was not in favour of axing Harry's royal title and that he maintains a love for his son.

According to Jobson, the King is said to be "saddened by the widening gulf" between him and his son Harry.

He added that Charles wishes he could see more of his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

Despite this, it has also been alleged by sources close to the Royal Family that the relationship between Harry and his farther is approaching the possibility of becoming almost entirely estranged.
