Prince Harry will rely on Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall at …

Prince Harry will likely have at least two royal allies when he attends the coronation of his father King Charles III on May 6. Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Harry would attend the coronation solo while his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet would remain in California. "Duty is still a priority to Harry, and he feels like it is his responsibility to attend," royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital.

"That being said, expect familiar and friendly characters like cousins Zara Tindall and Princess Eugenie to make small talk with the 'exiled' prince," she added. Zara Tindall is the only daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband Captain Mark Phillips. Despite being one of Queen Elizabeth II's grandchildren, Anne chose not to give Zara a royal title which has allowed her to forge a more private life outside of the royal institution.

Arguably, Zara has the "most" normal life of Elizabeth's grandchildren and is married to rugby union player Mike Tindall. The 41-year-old is also a highly accomplished professional equestrian and won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics in Team Eventing. Harry and Zara are believed to be close and essentially grew up together on the various royal estates.

A less unexpected ally at the coronation will be another Windsor cousin, Princess Eugenie. She briefly made a cameo in the couple's Netflix documentary series in which she is seen playing with Prince Archie and has travelled to California to stay with Harry and Meghan. Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son also currently live in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's former London home Frogmore Cottage.

Unlike her elder sister Princess Beatrice, Eugenie does not serve as a Counsellor of State on behalf of King Charles and is believed to have less of an allegiance to the institution than Beatrice. Eugenie may also have her own mixed feelings about Charles on coronation day after her mother Sarah, Duchess of York, was left off the guest list. Although Harry can expect a warm welcome from two of his cousins, his relationship with his brother Prince William is still believed to be at an all-time low following the release of Harry's memoir Spare in January.

"Both William and (his wife) Catherine will tolerate Harry's presence because, despite the bad blood and betrayal, there is a deep love for him in both of them," Ms Schofield said.

"We know that palace staff is planning every entry, exit, and seat with the battling brothers in mind.

The palace's ultimate objective is to avoid conflict."
