SAPD Chief Valentin selected as Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement …

Given Chief Valentin's involvement, commitment, and dedication to immigration issues in the community, the Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force[1] (LEITF) has selected Chief David Valentin as Co-Chair of the LEITF. In his new leadership role, Chief Valentin joins police executives from across the nation, including Texas, Arizona, and Iowa, on the board of directors.

As a leader in this executive position, Chief Valentin will continue his goal to improve community policies and make the immigrant community feel safe in their communities. On July 3, 2018, Santa Ana Police Chief David Valentin became the first Orange County Chief of Police to become a member of the Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force (LEITF). LEITF is an Executive Police Working Group, made up of police executive members nationwide, that jointly addresses immigration policy issues that impact local communities.

"It is an honor and privilege to be selected for this executive leadership position alongside other executive leaders from impacted communities nationwide. I look forward to discussing and implementing policy recommendations and innovative ideas to be able to continue to advocate for sensible immigration solutions, with a clear focus on keeping our community and public safety personnel safe." - Chief David Valentin For additional information regarding the Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force, please visit https://leitf.org/.
