Sood Supports Kashyap,invites Netizens’ Wrath
PATNA: As the investigating agencies tighten grip around him for creating conflicts in the society by spreading fake videos of purported assaults on migrant workers, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has come out in support of controversial YouTuber Manish Kashyap, drawing bitter criticisms from the Twitterati.Kashyap, a resident of West Champaran district in Bihar, is accused of spreading fake videos of attacks on Bihari migrants in Tamil Nadu. Currently, he is in jail in the cases being probed by the Bihar and Tamil Nadu police against him."As much as I know Manish Kashyap, he has always raised his voice for the welfare of the people of Bihar. Maybe there was some mistake in that too.
But I can say this with confidence that he fought only for the interest of the country. Nothing in our country is above justice and law. Whatever happens will be right," Sood tweeted on Tuesday evening. However, his tweet invited bitter reactions from twitterati. "Do you also know Manish Kashyap's hatred towards Muslims?
Is spewing out poison like this called 'fought for the country's interest?" reacted Mohammed Zubair, an independent fact-checker who was arrested by Delhi Police last year for hurting religious sentiments. Zubair also tagged a number of tweets made by Kashyap.Another user @Ramraajya said, "Sonu Sood if you like Manish Kashyap who hurled abuses at Muslims and Gandhis, then I regret saying that the country has seen a wrong hero in you."Commented another user @PoojaMathur01: "Now an award is confirmed for you...Prepare @SonuSood, after all, you have shown your Sanghi face! It's not so easy to support a murderer and a conspirator against India.
By the way @bihar_police and @TelanganaDGP need to investigate you as well!"The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar police as well as the Tamil Nadu police are probing the cases against Kashyap, who surrendered before the West Champaran police last month after the police started attaching his properties.
Prior to the current controversy, Kashyap was accused of being involved in thrashing Kashmiri shopkeepers at the Lhasa market in the state capital in 2019 in the aftermath of Pulwama terror attack.[1][2]
