This Thursday, April 13, the State Police allowed the entry of stranded migrants at the border with Chile after inspecting their documents. This is the result of an event that awakened the national territory with the presence of about 200 foreigners who wanted to enter Peru on foot. According to what has been reported, every time Chile decides to tighten its migration policies or apply special rules to prevent the passage of foreigners, this situation usually occurs in Peru.

Venezuelan and Haitian citizens arrived at the border and tried to enter Tacna on foot. Because this was not allowed, the road was closed for a long time. The PNP forces decided to identify the people and verify their documents so they can travel to the Santa Rosa border complex, where they will undergo another review before they can enter Tacna.

For those who have had babies or children and who are pregnant, they have started to control. Many migrants did not carry any documents. You could see more foreigners than Peruvian policemen, so the situation was almost impossible and dangerous.

As reported by foreign nationals, the Chilean immigration policy is stricter than the Peruvian one and they carry out deportations there, for which they want to return to their country of origin.

In Chile, Venezuelans enter with a visa and in order to obtain it, they must demonstrate a series of requirements such as having financial capacity, a job and a place to stay when they enter.

On the other hand, a multitude of Tacnos announced that the pilgrims would spend the night in places and gardens; and that their presence, often unlawful, increased crime in the city.

Don't they all go in?

After the incident at the Chilean border, the authorities allowed only 7 Haitian citizens to enter with their own documents.

Other people who belonged to the countries of Venezuela and Haiti could not enter the borders. none of their papers was put in order.
