Two booked for ‘Canada visa fraud’ worth Rs 4.33 lakh

Chandigarh police on Saturday booked Davinder Singh Gill, alias Thapa, and Kricpy Khaira for being involved in an immigration fraud worth Rs 4.33 lakh. The police said that the duo were booked for allegedly conning people on the pretext of providing work visas for Canada. As per investigators, both Davinder Singh Gill and Kricpy Khaira have previous cases of forgery and cheating that they have pending them.

The fresh case was registered on the complaint of one Kulveer Singh of Ludhiana[1]. Kulveer in his complaint reported to the police that the accused had given him a 100 per cent visa guarantee within 45 days of Quebec under CAQ program. The complainant further stated that after being lured by the accused, he decided to enroll his daughter-in-law in Quebec under CAQ program and paid a total of Rs 4,33,600 to the accused.

Police said that Kulveer had paid the amount to the duo in their office in Sector 43. The complaint filed by Kulveer also mentions the names of many employees, who were involved in accepting money on the behalf of Davinder Singh Gill and Kricpy Khaira. A case was registered at Sector 36 police station.

Besides the several cases of cheating, both Davinder Singh Gill and Kricpy Khaira have earlier been in the limelight for their conflict with an IPS officer of Punjab cadre.
