According to the state concern, the projectiles are produced at foreign facilities but using Ukrainian technology and with the involvement of specialists from the Ukrainian defense industry.

Ukrainian artillerymen are using the 122mm projectile for the D-30 towed howitzers and the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers. Ukroboronprom emphasizes that this is the third type of ammunition after the 120mm mortar rounds and the 125mm tank rounds, which is manufactured using Ukrainian technology and with the involvement of Ukrainian specialized professionals at foreign facilities. The previous batch of ammunition was shipped to the Armed Forces of Ukraine last month.

The order for new projectiles was preceded by factory tests, during which, according to the concern, experts confirmed the necessary tactical and technical characteristics of the shell: the strength of the body when fired, the stability of the equipment, the maximum range, the accuracy of the firing and the completeness of the ammunition burst. On Monday, April 10, Ukroboronprom shipped a batch of new 125mm tank rounds to the Ukrainian military, which are also jointly produced abroad.
