Coalition of fighter jets: Denmark will train Ukrainian pilots, does not rule out the provision of F-16
Troels Lund Poulsen, acting Danish Defence Minister, announced a discussion of specific plans for his state's participation in the so-called coalition of fighter jets to provide Ukraine with modern aircraft. According to the Danish Minister, after the US decision to join the coalition of fighter jets, the countries can together join "the retraining of Ukrainian pilots so that they can fly the F-16 in the long term".
"Denmark will make significant efforts to make this a priority," Poulsen said.
Advertisement:According to him, the coalition countries will finalise the final format of training Ukrainians within the next month, and in the near future, they will be discussed during a meeting of Defence Ministers of a number of countries in Warsaw. The head of the Danish Defence Ministry confirmed that the country is still open to discussing the possible transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine, but so far there is no such question. "We are open to discussion after we conduct the exercise whether we should go further and hand over the F-16 fighters," he said.

Earlier this week, the UK announced the launch of an international coalition aimed at training Ukrainian pilots on fourth-generation fighters, including the F-16. It already includes the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark, the United States and Portugal. According to media reports, the United States and its allies also plan to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, but not in the short term.
