Migrant barge port hides cruise dates over protest fears

The port where a giant barge will be docked to house migrants has removed its cruise schedule from its website amid fears over far-right protests.

The Port of Portland in south Dorset will host the Bibby Stockholm barge that will accommodate up to 506 asylum seekers from next month.

It is also due to welcome more than 40 cruise ships bringing tourists to the port over the remainder of the year and usually advertises the arrival and departure dates on its website, helping local businesses and residents plan for busy dates.

However, after widespread coverage of the controversial plans[1], the port's website has removed the dates.
