Russians attack Dnipro with 16 missiles and 20 Shahed drones

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the situation. The invaders attacked military and infrastructure facilities. Ukrainian air defense worked against enemy air targets.
Overall, the enemy launched 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea region at the Ukrainian city. The Russians also launched 5 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 long-range bombers from different directions. Launches were carried out from the Sea of Azov and the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

The invaders also launched 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the territory of the occupied Crimea, and 5 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region. In addition, the invaders directed 20 Iranian Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones from the south and north. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that during the night attack on May 22, the Ukraine's air defense forces of the Air Command East and the Air Command South downed four Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 20 Shahed drones over the eastern and southern areas, respectively.

At the end of the day on May 21, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet was downed over the territorial waters of Ukraine, Kherson region. The circumstances are being clarified, the Ukrainian Air Force added.

As a result of the attack, several buildings were damaged at the emergency service base. Two fires broke out, at present both have already been put out. More than 10 emergency trucks and other vehicles were destroyed while multiple units of specialized equipment were damaged.
Twenty-five cars and two buses also sustained damage. A local private enterprise in Dnipro was also hit, the report adds, noting that three buildings were mutilated on its commercial premises.

Missile debris was also found in the area. Seven people were injured. Women aged 52 and 70 are now in hospital.
Three houses and nine apartment buildings were affected, as well as a daycare facility, a number of shops and administrative buildings.
Six cars were gutted.
