At night, an explosion blasted out on the territory of the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation. Russian Telegram channels and local authorities reported on this. The fire that broke out at the Afipsky oil refinery was likely caused by a drone.
"In the Siversky District, there is a fire on the territory of the Afipsky oil refinery. One of the fuel oil distillation units is on fire. The preliminary reason is the incoming UAV," said Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of the Krasnodar Krai.
The fire was reported at an area of 100 square meters. No casualties were reported as a result of the explosion.
It is noted that the explosion was heard several kilometers away. The Afipsky oil refinery is located 15 km away from Krasnodar. On May 26, Russia announced that the Rostov region was attacked by missiles and the city of Krasnodar - by drones.
According to Russian media, the incident allegedly happened near the military air base in Morozovsk. The region's authorities claimed that the air defense system was activated, which had allegedly "downed the missile". According to local residents, at least two loud explosions blasted over the city center of Krasnodar around 4 a.m. local time.
Eyewitnesses heard a sound similar to the UAV flight before the explosions.
Also, the day before, drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region.
